Developer Lujo Properties has repurposed a former furniture showroom in central Glasgow to provide sustainable, tenant-focused workspace that offers both flexible occupancy and a sense of community.

C2’s design for this new destination building began with the front elevation – where we proposed new grey brick cladding, third floor terraces and radically altered fenestration. This replaced narrow slit windows on the second and third floors with generous full-height glazing – providing greater flexibility for the arrangement of the spaces within.

Eight office suites (four each on both the first and second floors) are designed as cat A+ workspace. On each floor, the suites open off a central corridor, which includes a shared kitchen and break out space. The third floor is undivided and finished to cat A.

A revamped ground floor entrance, stairway, toilets and showers along with new bicycle storage complete the MAGWRX offering.

Reflecting current occupier preferences, the finishes are natural, recycled and – where possible – locally-sourced. These include flooring and upholstery materials made in Scotland.
