No 1 West Regent Street is a multi-tenanted, grade A office building located in Glasgow’s city centre. Ten years after the building was completed, the existing double height reception space felt dated.
Our brief was to revamp it to reflect the informal culture and brands of the tenant companies, while reusing as much of the existing fit out as possible.
To soften the appearance of the existing monolithic black reception desk, we overclad it with timber. We painted over dark wooden panelling on either side of the lift lobby entrance in a soft, warm taupe. And we added a new signboard, artwork, lighting and seating to complete the update.
Two specially-designed elements add further character to the space. A dramatic swirling light fitting leads the way into the heart of the building. And a bespoke new rug ‒ designed and handmade by Turnberry Rug Works in Ayrshire ‒ adds definition and comfort to the visitor seating area.
