Energy regulator Ofgem moved to the third floor of Commonwealth House in 2017. The relocation offered an opportunity to introduce more agile working practices – allowing staff to work in the office, at home or elsewhere. C2’s design included 100% unallocated desking, along with a range of informal work settings and spaces for creative teamwork.

As a result of the Covid pandemic, most staff now choose to do quiet work at home. They use the office mainly for collaboration and teamworking. Therefore, C2 revisited the original concept in 2021 to match this hybrid model of working.

The space includes banks of electronic rise and fall desks and one-to-one rooms for quiet working, alongside a range of meeting, collaboration and break out spaces.
