Barclays took advantage of lease breaks on two existing offices to move all their Jersey-based staff into this new building. The fit out was the first in the UK and Channel Islands to use the bank’s new global workplace concept, which was developed by a US architect. C2 liaised with the developer – who also carried out the fit out works – to adapt elements of the base building design to meet Barclays’ needs.

In line with the design guide, 20% of the interior concept has a local flavour – with artwork, planting and other decorative items sourced on the island. We also made some modifications to the concept to reflect the particular nature of Barclays’ business in Jersey, which provides banking services to high net worth individuals.

As well as agile and collaborative workspace for 300 people, the building includes a top floor events and meeting space with stunning views over St Helier harbour.
