BCO Awards 2018 – c2: have been shortlisted for two Awards!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that two of our recent projects have been shortlisted for a BCO Award this year!

Our design work on the regeneration of the historic Savoy Tower has been shortlisted for "Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace" in Scotland. We worked with new the building owner Castleforge to transform the site into funky, modern Clockwise serviced offices in this Cat. A and B project. This project was hugely significant for the City of Glasgow, as it brought a new lease of life to an iconic but tired building by introducing the popular London trend for serviced office co-working space and providing a dynamic space for the city’s fledgling SMEs and entrepreneurs.

You read more about the design and see some pictures of the completed project here on our case study!

In the "Projects up to 1,500m2" for Scotland category, we have the Ellis Whittam project. This is the design of the new Glasgow HQ office for Employment and HR Law Firm Ellis Whittam. The site is within the Beacon Building on St Vincent Street – chosen by the client because of its central location. The project intention was to create an interior which could be regarded as a top-tier workplace in the Glasgow market, to recruit the best talent and grow their business in Scotland. The aesthetic is professional, yet fresh, warm and comfortable.

You can see pictures of the completed project and read more about the design story here on our case study!

Our c2: Directors will be meeting with the BCO judges at the sites next month, watch this space…

Ellis Whittam Glasgow HQ Fit-Out

Earlier this year, Ellis Whittam, leading Employment and HR Law Consulting firm, moved into their new office in the Beacon Building, in the heart of Glasgow, and they selected c2: to design their new space.

The Beacon Building, at 176 St. Vincent Street, offers office spaces which are completely blank canvases which was a really exciting prospect for us. c2: and Ellis Whittam MD, Mark Ellis, collaborated closely on the designs and we created an environment based on the company’s needs. The client noted that they wanted their office to have a dramatic impact and strong brand presence on exiting the lifts into the space, as well as a comfortable and welcoming breakout area, with contemporary and stylish soft furnishings.

The before and after pictures below really showcase the transformation of the blank space into a warm, welcoming and professional environment.

The project was completed in January this year, and our case study with more detailed information on the design intentions can be viewed here in the project case study.

Clockwise Offices Grand Opening

This week saw the launch of Clockwise – a brand-new shared workspace in Glasgow’s Savoy Tower which was designed by c2: We worked closely on this project with Castleforge Partners, from conception to completion, to completely regenerate the space. Our Director Mark Alcorn explains in more detail, “We designed a flexible, creative work environment that that suits multiple workstyles. Soft-seating lounge areas, a café, an outdoor terrace, large conference and meeting rooms, quiet escapes, private phone booths - all of these different types of workspaces encourage productivity and the space for great ideas. We wanted to create an opportune environment for a rich network of contacts to collaborate - all in the one workspace.”

c2:'s designer Laura attended the launch event last night with Mark and our Design Director Jean Camplisson, and as you can see from the pictures the weather was perfect for drinks and mingling on the brand new Clockwise Terrace!

We will publish a full case study about this project soon. For now, check out these cracking photos of the completed space taken by photographer Neal Smith.
